cup.holders.

I think I’m a pretty low-maintenance girl when it comes to material things and the like. I don’t shop a lot, I don’t need manicures or pedicures, and I’ve gotten my hair cut professionally once in the last year.

My car is about as bare-bones as they make ‘em. It gets me from point A to point B, and that’s about it. No power windows, no power locks, and no power steering. It has a speedometer and a temperature gauge and that’s it. Tachometer? Who needs one?? Just shift when it feels right. Oh yeah, and it’s a 4-speed.

Well, after the death and resurrection of the Tercel last week, my wonderful husband has offered to switch cars, and I have graciously accepted the offer. Now I’m driving a 90-something Honda Accord, and do you want to know the most exciting thing about it?

Cup holders.

The Tercel had none, so I would wedge my drink between the driver’s seat and the emergency brake. And today, when I drove the Honda for the first time with a beverage, I was delighted to have a convenient location to place my drink.

It’s the little things in life that make life good. Who knew that cup holders would bring me so much satisfaction?
